Southwest Veterans Foundation (SWVF) Named as Finalist
For Greater Phoenix Chamber‘s 2020 Impactful Award

The SWVF was named as one of four finalists in the Greater Phoenix Chamber (GPC) 2020 IMPACTful Awards program.

Initiated in 2016, the GPC IMPACTful Award recognizes the value of nonprofits in the Valley, while also taking into consideration the unique situation, scope, and abilities of a nonprofit organization. The award honors nonprofits that exhibit success in three areas: Community Impact, Innovation, and Adversity.

At the same time, the GPC makes two IMPACT awards to for-profit organizations, a large and a small category. Award recipients for all three categories will be announced at the IMPACT Awards Luncheon on May 6, 2020 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown. Winners will be determined through public voting at the GPCC website: www.phoenixchamber.com/impact. Additional details regarding voting procedures will be announced when available.

Tom Sheets, Executive Director of the SWVF, expressed the gratitude of the Board of Directors for this honor. “While it would be very rewarding and satisfying to win this prestigious award, our greatest reward is the satisfaction we get from helping Veterans and their families. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Southwest Veterans Chamber of Commerce and all our donors, supporters, and contributors, without which we could not do what we do.”

In addition to its recurring programs, the SWVF has embraced Veteran Suicide Prevention as its signature issue in 2020.
