Southwest Veterans Foundation (SWVF) Surpasses Phase I Goal
Veteran Suicide Prevention Fundraising Goal

The SWVF embraces Veteran suicide prevention as its signature charitable cause. Its initial goal was to raise $100,000 to support Arizona organizations with established programs aimed at preventing Veteran suicide. On December 31, 2025, SWVF closed Phase I on its campaign with a total of $113,155. Eric Snelz,  President of the SWVF Board of Directors noted “we could not have achieved this goal without the generous support of so many who share our passion for making a difference. We also want to thank Devoted Health Plans, our Veteran Suicide Prevention Program Sponsor, for their generous support.”

Tom Sheets, Executive Director of SWVF announced the kickoff of Phase II began on January 1, 2026. “Our goal in Phase II is to raise another $100,000 to continue to fight the scourge of Veteran suicide—a national tragedy.”

Arizona continues to carry the 6th highest Veteran suicide rate in the country. While many organizations and individuals have done a lot to combat this epidemic, it is clear much more must be done. To that end, SWVF plans to forge a statewide collaboration of organizations and individuals who share our passion for this most important cause.

If you would like to join in this collaboration, please contact Tom Sheets at t.sheets@swvcc.org or 602.677.2961.

On behalf of the Veterans and their families who have benefited from these grants, the Board of directors thanks the hundreds of people and organizations who make this program possible. We also send a special thank you to our VSPF Sponsor
