Stop the Epidemic of Veteran Suicides and Homelessness in Arizona
In its annual report on Veteran suicides, the Veterans Administration (VA) recently announced that the number of Veteran suicides and the suicide rate per 100,000 had both decreased nationwide for the first time in many years. In this same report, however, we learned that both the number of Veteran suicides and the rate per 100,000 both increased in Arizona. Arizona now has the 5th highest Veteran suicide rate in the nation! Despite everything that everyone has done, we are losing this battle. The mission is clear: all who care about Veterans and their families must make fighting Veteran suicide a priority.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) reported a national decline in Veteran homelessness—but not in Arizona. Homelessness leads to hopelessness; hopelessness can lead to suicide.
The Southwest Veterans Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization. We provide grants to vetted non-profit organizations directly involved in Veteran suicide prevention and homelessness. To date we have provided grants totaling over $30,000 to combat these issues. We know from testimonials from those who benefitted from our grants, that we are making a difference among our Veterans. We also know that we must do more—much more. That is where we need your help.
We are very grateful to be joined in this fight by Modern Woodmen of America who has pledged to match our fundraising in this two-week campaign up $2,500 running from April 1-10, 2022. Will you please join us in turning $2,500 into $5,000?
You can donate in four ways:
- Online at https://swvcc.org/savealife/
- Mailing a check to SWVF 3820 W. Happy Valley Rd., #141-455 Glendale, AZ 85310

To receive our matching funds, we must act quickly. If you can, please make sure we receive your donation by April 10, 2022. You can make donations after that, but they may not qualify for the matching funds. Your personal check will avoid merchant services fees and put 100% of your donations to work. But…we will graciously accept donations in any form.
On behalf of the Veterans and their families who will benefit from your generosity, we THANK YOU.
