Preliminary reports for 2022 indicate that the national suicide rate has increased after two years of decline. National reports estimate that there were 49,449 suicides in America in 2022, an increase of 2.6% over 2021.By any objective measure, this is a national tragedy!

The data in the Veteran community is even more alarming, where it continues at epidemic proportions:

  • Male Veterans commit suicide at 150% the rate of the non-Veteran male US population
  • Female Veterans commit suicide at 250% the rate of the non-Veteran female US population

Will you join the Southwest Veterans Community during National Suicide Prevention Month in combating the vexing problem of Veteran suicides.

We have raised $47,613 toward our goal of $100,000 and have awarded $46,200 in Veteran Suicide Prevention Grants. Will you please help us raise the other $52,387?
